One Year On - Status Update

It has been a long and arduous year, for several of us, the most difficult year of our lives, since our beloved Hugh has been gone. We have been committed to preserving his light and legacy, and we wanted to update our followers on the latest with the memorial fund.

Thanks to your generosity, we have raised over $200,000. This will allow us to establish an endowed scholarship at Morehouse College for business majors focusing on finance, meaning that we will be able to fund an annual scholarship in perpetuity, preserving Hugh’s legacy for generations to come. It takes time to set up such a fund, and so we will make the initial grant in the spring of 2025 for a junior in the 2025-2026 school year. Scholarships will cover both junior and senior years for awardees.

We continue to encourage one-time donations and recurring donations, and the Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley continues to sponsor our donor-advised fund. The more we raise, the more students we can support, and our goal is to impact as many lives as we possibly can.
